Ugo Candido is the founder and editor-in-chief of CalcDomain. He is responsible for the editorial methodology that governs every calculator on the site — including the contract-test system that gates publication, the dated-source policy for benchmark figures, and the technical review of each tool.
Trained as a management engineer at the University of Udine and as an MBA at the MIB Trieste School of Management, Ugo has spent more than two decades building products, systems, and operations across the European Union, China, and the United States.
CalcDomain publishes calculators covering many jurisdictions — Italian TFR and IMU, Indian PPF and NPS, Japanese NISA and iDeCo, Brazilian FGTS, German Festgeld and Soli, and many others. The editorial promise is not that one person is a tax expert in every country, but that every calculator is built on a documented formula, validated against known-correct golden test cases, and sourced from the official publishers of the jurisdiction it covers — with each source linked and dated on the page.
Editorial responsibility
- Defining the methodology each calculator must satisfy before publication (formula contract, golden tests, scenario validation, content uniqueness).
- Selecting and citing the primary public source for every locale-specific calculator (tax authority, central bank, ministry, or statistical office) with the date the figure was consulted.
- Technical review of each tool — ensuring the math that runs in the browser is the same code that passes the automated tests, with no silent drift between tested and shipped behaviour.
- Editorial review of every calculator's explanatory copy, examples, and FAQ for accuracy and clarity, and routing country-specific updates through specialist reviewers when warranted.
