How to Use This Calculator
Enter the masonry compressive strength, wall dimensions, axial load, and reinforcement ratio to estimate flexural, shear, and axial performance. Adjust the masonry type factor or analysis emphasis if your assembly leans toward balanced, flexure-first, or shear-first behavior before clicking Calculate.
Methodology
This engine multiplies the material strength by the section response, layers the masonry factor, and credits the reinforcement ratio. Axial stress divides the applied load by the effective cross-sectional area, and utilization shows how close that stress is to the reference strength.
- Flexural and shear targets scale with the masonry factor and analysis emphasis to reflect balance versus shear-critical cases.
- Axial stress normalizes load against wall area to keep psi results consistent regardless of dimensions.
- Reserve capacity highlights the percent of strength remaining after the axial demand is applied.
